X+Y = 17 (X-Y)+(Y-X) = 19
Who is X? Who is Y?

X and Y are Dr. Evazan and Ponda Baba. Their cost together, factoring in Rapport = 17
The 2nd equation is meant to represent their original costs (without Rapport) added together (and as such it doesn't really matter which character is assigned to X or Y).
