Does Ganner live up to the reputation that the Vong have given him?
What are your thoughts?

While it would have been nice to see Ganner with an ability like Vong Hunter, I think he fills a very nice niche within the New Republic faction. With Levitation, NR now has a very potent movement breaker, and Ganner has single-handedly flung NR into the top Tier of factions. He also brings Grandmaster Luke Skywalker back into the mix, as he can now be levitated into the fray for all of his Triple/Twin/Djem So goodness. While Ganner isn't much of a fighter in his own right, he shouldn't be trifled with, as Stealth and access to Evade (via General Wedge) makes him very survivable.

I agree on the Vong Hunter. Would have been an interesting new SA.
I knew he was a decent figure but didn't realize how good a piece he is until this past weekend at the Racine Regional. I played against him once and know of at least one other squad using him. The ability to levitate a heavy hitter into the battle is HUGE!

I played a team using him at the Racine Regional. He doesn't look like much of a fighter but he won me a game taking down 3 minis and with only force push 2. At that point Ganner had loner so the 13 attack helped. His main use is the Levitation after that you use push to get direct damage on pieces.

Yep, we saw a few Ganner squads at the Racine Regional. And I'm sure he'll be seen at GenCon. I wondered why his rating on BlooMilk was as high as it was. Now I know. Although he isn't a bad figure, he isn't stellar either. But the Levitation does open up the faction quite a bit.

Well I think the distinction with Ganner needs to be between what he does on his own and what he can do for your squad. Agreed, he's not going to be the main damage threat in your squad, but in a pinch, he has some reliable damage output with Force Push and Loner. But by far his greatest asset is Levitation, which is why he is such an amazing piece. For slightly more points than General Wedge, who can't fight worth a lick, you get an okay fighter with a great Force Power that can really change the makeup of your game.
Ganner is practically a staple now in competitive NR builds, though I was not expecting him to be interpreted the way that he was by Wizards. Was expecting an amazing solo fighter, but I'm more than pleased with what we got. =)

Thank you =)
I've now gone to two Regionals (PA-MD and NJ) and Ganner has been in both my builds. His survivability really is pretty nifty. He's got a good amount of HP, and Stealth of course gives him even more staying power. And I gotta say, levitating Grand Master Luke Skywalker in for his Triple/Twin terrified my opponents, in some cases, to the point of making them flee. And being able to levitate Kyp in for his Force Push 5 is also very nice!
